Yeah apparently getting a new gear built will be £1k+. I've emailed around a bunch of places asking if they have any cameras for donor parts, but no luck so far. Wiese Fototechnik in Hamburg say they have the part and can do the repair, so that's looking like my best option. (Though expensive!)
