Strangely Van Gogh-y. I really don't like these type of effects usually but for some reason I think that picture looks great

Best £100 holiday point and shoot?

Because I wanted to know if anyone has a personal preference that's all? I know there won't be much in it whatever I buy but I would like one that's highly recommended

Best £100 holiday point and shoot?

I have an iPhone 4 with a Lifeproof case which adds some hefty coating over the lens rendering my camera abilities fairly useless... I would rather my phone be waterproof and shockproof etc than a good camera! In all honesty I don't think there is much in it RE the cameras but I shall go and...

Best £100 holiday point and shoot?

Hey guys, I am off to Croatia for a few days next week and don't fancy taking my D5100 as I am going with the lads and probably not staying in the nicest of hotels. Just after a good quality point and shoot for the beach/nights out etc. I want to spend around £100-£120 and don't mind if...

Buying my first lighting equipment and help with set up?

Hi chaps, I would like your opinions on a lighting set up within my budget. I don't really do stuff against a backdrop but I have a friend who does some dancing and wants some piccies taking. Obviously being the kind hearted soul I agreed but I could do with some help in sorting the right...

    First DSLR-£400 ish

Second hand for me. You save money and they have been well looked after and you aren't losing any image quality going second hand

    First DSLR-£400 ish

Brilliant purchase Greg well done. I got a 18-55mm and a 50mm 1.8 with mine which is by far my favourite, but just bought the 55-200mm lens. Between those three you can't go wrong

    First DSLR-£400 ish

Hi Greg, I have just purchased myself a DSLR with a similar budget to you and got myself a 6 month old D5100... I too wanted brand new but then I saw how well people look after these cameras with being photography enthusiasts and got a great deal on a second hand one with 18-70mm lens and a 50mm...

    Homemade lightbox?

Hi Steve, how have you done this? I know it sounds silly but I was thinking an iPhone blank white screen could do a half decent job!! Any tutorial would be greatly appreciated

    First Flashgun

Kingpin, Yes the Metz 44 works with Nikon TTL and is very simple to use with no daunting screens. It's build quality is very sturdy with it being German and has a lovely feel to it. The recharge time is approx 4 seconds...

    First Flashgun

Hi pal. I too have the D5100 and have literally just received my first Flashgun today!! I opted for the Metz 44 due to it looking fairly simple to use and having some good reviews. I have only had it out the box a matter of hours but must say I am VERY pleased with the results!
