Yup... you'll notice that the light changes as you spin it (circular or linear).

I've used both circular & linear on both Fuji (s602) & Canon (350D & A85) cameras with no detremental effect on the AF. On the Canons with the linear, however, you have to adjust the exposure to compensate as the metering can't cope with it (apparently it uses a type of polariser in the metering...

Erm... forgive my ignorance on this... are you refering to mechanical curtains?... surely a digital SLR only has a mirror which flips up (my 350 does)... unlike film the sensor shouldn't start recording 'till this has happened... then the mirror pops back into place. To me it does sound like...

The subject of BBC photo submissions has been discussed at length in a variety of forums & it still sounds a little dodgy to me. If it was a competition where you could come out with something at the end of it then fair enough... you have a pic that otherwise is doing nothing but maybe hanging...

If it's only when using your zoom it might not be sensor dust... do the blobs turn up when you use another lens? The blobs would be in exactly the same place on all files (unless of course theyre being blown around when you change lenses) irrespective of how much you're zoomed in.

Oops... I heard about this update about a month ago & posted it on another forum...
