Just managed to get a nikkor 55-200 mm lend for my d80 from currys (where I work) was supposed to be £179, I paid £30 for it!! Pleased with that or what, brand new boxed an everything!! :)

^^ yeah they havn't had a great deal of money off them, they may go down more still.... What i meant by the post though was "is the D80 due to be replaced aswell?" Does anyone know anything aboout this?

Hmmmmmmm well, i went in to get the d80, but they couldnt find the one thay had reserved for me!! Im still debating what to go for, or whether to just go any buy another d40x (mine needed to be replaced, had an annoying dead pixel in the lcd anyway) I have just read the practical photography...

I dont know if it has anything to do with this at all, but for some reason, a lot of the D80 kits went onto clearance at currys yesterday, this usually means that it is being replaced, but i could possibly be barking up the wrong tree!!

Thanks, that is a good point, i have had a look at all of the aftermarket parts availably for each, and both seem fairly comparible! As for requirements, i dont have a specific area of these at the moment, as im just starting out, but I mainly like transport, landscapes, and fast moving things...
