I found some parts of the Pyg track a bit scary - but then that was a long time ago! :cuckoo:
As said, the Miners track gives some great photo opportunities and there's (and I can't remember what it's called - Llanberis Pass??) the path that goes from Llanberis and meets the railway track...
Ok I'm a complete novice with this sort of thing (still using the stock 18-55mm Lens with my D500). I keep reading on here about 10 stoppers (and I like the results they give). What about UV/Polarising filters - what sort of effect do these have on your photos?
Do I need a specific type to...
I started off shooting in RAW+JPG but when I was running low on space on my SD card one day, switched it to JPG only (and forgot to switch back to RAW+JPG). As you can imagine, I was gutted when I took a (what I thought anyway!) was a great shot and wanted to do some post processing - only to...
Well I thought it was long overdue to come and say hi to everyone :)
I joined a while back when I was searching for my first dSLR - which turned out to be a Canon EOS 500D - chuffed with it's performance and getting braver all the time (sometimes I even put it in manual/semi-manual!) :lol...

Windows 7 is ace and 100 times better than the horror that was Vista. Even better, dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu which has all the flashiness and slick interface of Mac OS without having to fork out a premium for a lesser specified machine ;)
For seascapes, anywhere around the Lizard peninsula - some great scenery there. And as for harbour shots - from a selfish point of view - I'd recommend Porthleven along with the others mentioned. Mainly because I love the place and holiday there every year
Well I've got my Canon EOS 500D with the 18-55mm Kit lens - now I'm after a decent zoom lens. Question is, which one would you recommend? I'm on a budget and can stretch to around the £200 mark.
It'll be used for outdoor daylight shots (pretty much what my old ultrazoom camera was used for)...
Well I took delivery this morning of my shiny new Canon EOS 500D and I must say that I am very impressed! I had a play in Full Auto and the quality compared to my old Bridge camera is astonishing. Also had a little play with the manual modes and can see there is a lot to learn! A lot of...
Thanks Geoff,
I've been using Ultrazoom cameras for years and while the massive zoom is nice to have, the image quality has always been a bugbear of mine so SLR was the way to go.
I will confess to knowing nothing about Depth of Field and shutter speeds so it's gonna be a steep learning...
Hi all,
I'm John from Liverpool and I recently joined Talk Photography to see what's what. I've finally taken the plunge and will be taking delivery of a shiny new Canon 500D next week. Hope I made the right choice as it had some rather sterling reviews! :)
Looking forward to getting the...
