Ok, understood. Thankyou both. If anyone has the time would they mind finding me an appropiate hood for my lens, as i stated i do get confused quite easily, am also quite poor now which is why i chose a cheapy hood.

No filter, I took it off. So are you saying that boyonet fittings vary, that they are not universal. Cannot send it back if have bought the wrong item when they specifically state what lens it is meant for, was only £2.70, i can survive loosing it.

The Tamron 18-270 (i wish i had never bought, shoulda kept my canon 28-200) has jerky auto focus & the focus ring is quite stiff, especially near the 100mm.

Tried the mirror lockup but the VF goes black for those two seconds. I am just trying to keep my camera shake to a minimum, but... i nearly always try to steady/brace myself against something anyway. Thanks Chris

Changing that did not work. Am sure i read somewhere that it is possible to set a delay on trigger press but i forget where, there's no mention in the manual.

Exercise, i didn't go out much, having the camera is now starting to get me out of the house.

Am not new the countryside, i just dont know what i am looking :lol: I do go for walkabouts (& cyclabouts, ha! is that a new word?) but it's usually within 5 mile, & about 12 mile on my bike. I will get that I-Spy book, looks like just what i need. Looked on Ebay & there are more of those...

I would like to learn about the UK countryside, birds, trees etc. Does anyone know a dedicated website with illustrations/pics & details. I could use the library but i have the world at my fingertips right here in front of me, problem is finding what i want, google is not always helpful.

I have seacrhed the forum for shutter delay & self timer. Is it possible to set a shutter delay to 1 second.

I agree. I was deleting files from mine using PC & the camera was showing the wrong space left on the empty card & how many pics i could take.
