I recently upgraded from a 30d to a 70d and a week later the 80d came out...
I haven't yet used it for more than playing around but my initial impression is that it is light years ahead of the 30d. I don't think you would be disappointed in either but the 70d will be significantly cheaper just now.
Is there a quick way to change external flash output without going through all the menu's? I know you can set flash exposure compensation to the 'set' button but that only works in TTL mode and putting it in 'my menu' isn't any quicker than just going in through the menu normally.

There was a recall on a batch of these lenses. I can't remember the specifics but it was something to do with auto focus. Not saying this is the issue but it might be worth checking. It was an easy firmware fix IIRC.
Anyone here seen the Benro Falcon 400 or 800 in the flesh? I'm about to pull the trigger but would appreciate a second opinion. OP might find it a good option...
GoPro 4 Silver is hard to beat in that form factor. I've a few of the cheaper clones (Xiaomi, SJ etc) and although good I find the GoPro much better in every respect. I've spent more on buying the clones than the GoPro...
