Probably down to the level of danger it offers. Aren't they talking about reintroducing Line here anyway ?

Beautiful animal, lets hope they can catch this one without having to shoot it.

Lightroom 7 - "will appear later this year".

How much benefit is there in trying to find an adobe replacement ? If any company comes up with a truly good and cheap alternative to PS and lightroom do you really think it will stay cheap for long ? They will be after the benefits of cornering the market just the same as Adobe are.

Lightroom 7 - "will appear later this year".

I cannot pretend to have read every post so may have missed something but while there are several decent alternatives to PS so you can avoid subscription I am not aware of any alternative to Lightroom with its ( IMHO ) brilliant library system combined with the most used (?) parts of PS

    Great Crested Grebe

It is surprising how little there is written about wildlife behaviour. Where is Dr Dolittle when you need him ? :)

    Great Crested Grebe

Thanks for that Gramps. Nice picture. Judging by the face and neck I think these two are still young. If it happened that the adults chased them off from somewhere else then these may not stay as a pair. i.e they could be brothers ? ..... or would the male's territorial nature have taken...

    Great Crested Grebe

Do they tend to stay in one place? I want to get a collection of pictures of Great Crested Grebes and have found a couple of lakes / river weir pools with a pair ( i.e 2 ) on them. I know they are territorial so I am guessing that once a 'pair' has found a suitable home they will stay there...

    Sigma 150-600mm contemporary

I am 69 and brought one last week. Only played with it so far but looking forward to spending some time in nature reserve hides ( maybe still a bit small on a full frame ) and wildlife parks ( where it will be perfect )

Ahhh 3 sections, obvious when you think about it...... and my stockist ( the wife and her sewing machine ) never runs out. :)

Thanks for that Gramps, you are being very helpful in this thread. I guess the term WELL FILLED bean bag must be it, I can imagine all the beans falling down either side of the sill and leaving just a couple of layers of cloth protecting it.

    Hide étiquette

OK, I went to one of the local(ish) hides for a recce, pleasantly surprised. It had 6 or 7 windows and bench seats ( very uncomfortable :) ) for 12 if I remember correctly, though it was empty all day. There was a big box built into the hide which contained what was presumably bird food. A shelf...
