I recently upgraded from a very very noisy 50d to a 7d(pre-owned) and what a difference! The 7d is an awesome piece of kit especially coupled with my 70-200 f2.8L. There was very little size difference between the 2 cameras gripped. I see a lot of people complaining about the weight! but...

Traded my 50d in for a 7d and noticed the firmware was 1.0.9 i downloaded and installed 2.0.0 via CF card and installed with no problems and all working fine so far! Only alteration was time /date and location all other setting's remained.

I use a 50d and changed to a iMac from an XP/pc, also upgraded my mac to lion and no problems with software or driver's at any point. Hope this helps.

Nice to see you bought a 50d its a great camera,but dont ditch the 400d. I use mine as a backup usually with the 50mm 1.8 attatched saves time changing lenses as well. In my honest opinion the 400d sometimes takes a better photo than the 50d.
