Hi I have bought the Canon Eos 700d with the kit lens and now want a sharper lens for 3/4 portraits.
I don't want to go tighter than 30mm can anyone recommend anything even second hand please?

What focal length do you think would work in such a space?
I am also looking at the Sigma 17/70 mm 2.8 but worried that wont be fast enough for low light.
Its looking like I will need to get a dedicated wide prime.
I know different people use what they like but do you think for the street it will be a bit noisy and at 50mm on a crop a bit tight?
For me the 35mm 1.8 seemed good.
Just my thoughts.
I want to photograph models indoors in natural light laying on a bed for example.
I will be using a D7100 and wondered what lens would be good in low light other than the 35mm 1/8 I prefer primes.
Sounds like its the D7100 then.
I liked the feel of the focusing on it too compared to the the D7000.
Feels massive in the hand compared to the Fuji X100 I've been using but I 'am sure I will get use to it.

I went and tested these camera today with a Nikkon 35mm F1/8 and unsure what to get.
The sales advisor said shooting models with the 7100 could create problems without the filter of the 7000 if for example they were wearing a stripy top.
