Nikon Repairs. I sent my z9 off to them early Jan, they examined it and provided an estimate which I accepted on the 16th Jan and said go ahead with the repair. Not got it back yet because Nikon are "awaiting parts" - which is frustrating and baffling because it's not a decades old camera...

I used to put my tree up for the 1st December, and decorate my porch with a smaller tree and little ornaments, while listening to a Carols from King's CD. I used to make mince pies and white chocolate and cranberry fudge. However, 10 years working in retail has broken my Christmas spirit...

I stick with a simple Year > Month > Day folder system and everything from that days shoot goes into the day folder. I tried segmenting stuff into "wildlife", "landscape" etc folders but I ended up confusing myself (easy done, admittedly). I really must crack on with tagging my photos.

I've bought used gear from LCE, mpb, Wilkinsons, wex and park cameras. Never had a problem and generally found their descriptions accurate, maybe I'm just very lucky? I've traded a few things in and had a lens rejected by Wex because they said it was faulty and the fault was uneconomical to...

I have used both (and Zorin, just to throw another distro out there). I prefer how Mint looks more than anything but my friend is very much pro-ubuntu. I'd suggest you try both and see which you prefer - each to their own :)

Nah, I'm the girl who tightened up all the security policies and b*llocked people for keeping passwords on sticky notes on their monitor or trying to reply to phishing scams.

I've run Linux Mint as my main PC for a good few years now. I use RawTherapee, Darktable, GIMP and Digikam (for cataloguing and tagging). I wouldn't go back to Windows now but I was a Windows System Administrator when I worked in IT so that's probably put me off!

Thank you very much for all your suggestions, I'm looking strongly into a bandolier-type of tether as I think that would be safest but also giving me enough freedom of movement too.

So, for the first time in 20+ years I have dropped and broken my camera :( I have arthritis in my left wrist joint and my right thumb joint, meaning I don't have full ability to grip like I used to. Most days I have the joints splinted for pain relief and support. I normally carry my camera on...

There's one at the moment that's doing my fruit in - dunno what they're advertising but it features someone repeatedly ringing a doorbell. Sends my dog loopy :mad:.

In my previous working lif, I was in IT. I have had some success of getting data off a drive which Windows couldn't read by booting into a Linux pc or running a Linux live-cd. But this depends on how techy/geeky you are, really.
