Decided - 70D purchased, although as its a part Christmas present I don't get to open it until Christmas Day :( The wife has said she will charge the battery for me before wrapping it though.

Thanks for the video link RedRobin - think that was one I hadn't seen! I think I am decided that although the 7D is better built the 70D will be a better option in the long run due to the newer tech and slightly better high ISO performance. Price wise the cheapest UK body only version I can find...
