Alas It was good while it lasted.

My Sigma SD Quattro H has taken its last photo. I stood on the deck of the MV Hamnavoe as it sailed southwards along the coast of Hoy - hoping to apture the Old Man. I had changed lens and was all ready to press the shutter when the EVF went blank, flickered then coloured lines and rectangles...

    Dust spots

My daughter mentioned the curtain on the R7. So the curtain won't shed onto the sensor....:exit:

    Dust spots

There were a few comments made after the camera had been out a while, that it might be flecks shedding from the shutter mechanism. But it's certainly caught me by surprise. Now just need to find a sensible software trick that can show them up.

    Dust spots

One way to do it Alan, thankyou. Except I did that once I discovered there was a problem, first dozen shots were clean then gradually the motes started appearing, perhaps the sensor needed a bit of charge to make the motes popup?

    Dust spots

I've had various Fuji cams, from the S3Pro to X series and I can honestly say there's been very few images taken that display dust spots, providing I keep the lens and/or filter clean. I've had a Sigma Quattro SD for just about a year, initially intending to use it for IR, but it seems to have...

Heart rate monitors/fitness watches etc ?

Withings - I have the Move ECG and the ScanWatch - the latter will take an ECG and oxygen level. Bit marmite reading on their Forum but I generally get on OK with mine. I wonder, though on their algorithm for step counts. I generally walk the same paths twice a day - in the days of FitBit and...

How far should you go in PP

Go as far as you feel you need. At least you got a record of the bird which is more than I can say about our shots of golden- and white tailed- eagles over 5 trips to Lewis/Harris and the Uists. Perhaps you cropped too much on this shot?

How long have you been into photography?

Hands up - another one from 1976 ( purchased a Mamiya MSX500 to take away on honeymoon - with the wife of course..... )

    Still Getting Noisy Images.

I could only hope to emulate the quality of these shots! Little wrong with them on my screen!

    Scotland Eh up!

Yorkshireman here, living in God's second Country... :D Started Photography in 1976, purchasing a Mamiya MSX500 just before honeymoon. Graduated from the standard lens to a telephoto and added a Mamiya RB67 a few years later. Moved to digital with a FinePix 4700 Zoom, and both the film cameras...
