Rise above the snobbery, I was Nikon through and through for years. Spent an absolute fortune on lens from Macro to 600 f4 and 500 f4...F5 (Remember those old film things we used to use), I have just sold my D3X kit with a host of lenses to MPB about 2 months ago...I have bought an Olympus EM1...

    What ND filter

Try the SRB Elite range....Had some great results with them, I was lucky enough to get some Lee filters from the classifieds a while ago, but had a a set of SRB's, a really good starter to be honest.

    Micro four thirds for landscapes

I take it you have checked out E6 blogs on You Tube with Craig Roberts, uses the Olympus Omd and Pen for all of his work now, supplies images to all, has no problems with quality issues, lots of his videos's explain the reasoning behind his switch to Mft....thinking about going down this route...

How much do we need to understand - of technology.

Personally, its all about the picture, the light, the composition everything else is secondary, I don't give a hoot about the technical side, as long as I can get the picture as I want it with a little PP. If I drive a Ferrari, why the hell do I need to know what the engine does and how it...

    D3---70-200VR Problems

Oooh, so many comments......Just to clarify, the Veiwfinder is dark all over, not in the corners......It's like the DoF button has been depressed, as to the 70-200, it works fine on the D200 and D300 and also a couple of film camera's we have, crystal clear viewfinder's.......So I really think...

    D3---70-200VR Problems

Really strange now......the Guy came round with his D3 (still lovely-- the D3 that is), as he said, it was a dark veiwfinder (but pictures were clear on the back screen when taking a pic), but when I put it on my D300+D200 no problems whatsoever (70-200)...when sticking about 4 non VR lens on...

    D3---70-200VR Problems

"My thought was also that somehow the lens is activating the DoF preview?! ".....so would that be the camera activating it or the lens.....I suppose it would be the lens thinking about, due to the fact the his other lens does not cause it.......repair bill, going to be????

    D3---70-200VR Problems

Odd Question really, if anyone has come across this problem, I have just sold a 70-200 2.8 vr to a nice chap, he has a D3, (Lucky g*T)....He phoned me saying that he could barely see anything through the lens (dark)......when putting on another lens ...no problems....Last time I used the 70-200...
