If you could explain how it would be much appreciated.
The way I see it is most camera's have a filter over the sensor which removes IR light. So only visible light reaches the sensor. So any type of filter will only be able to tint in coming light.
So the only real way to shoot IR is to...
I've just watched this video from Gavin Hoey and he said he used an Infra-red Filter. I thought you had to modify a normal camera or buy an Infra-red Camera to do this. Isn't the filter just an ND with a red tint?

I think one should try their best to get photos right at the point of taking the photo including using various filters or lighting to get the best result.
However, PP is part of photography and I always tweak my photos from minor curve corrections to full on HDR's.
I guess what matters at the...
This really upsets me. I love dogs so much. The person responsible for keeping them in the car, and thus causing their death, should be banned from handling dogs.

Thanks for the info.
This is defiantly the non-DG version as the the filter size was reduced from 77mm to 67mm.
However, I've now decided to send this lens back because the lens randomly stops talking to my D50 after a dozen or so photos.
I feel like I've been conned. Gonna buy through...

Not been on the forum in a long time and you've all been a great help...
Yup,
The seller advertised as the DG model and then listed all the specs for the DG. The DG has a 67mm filter thread and the non-DG has a 77mm thread.
Good job I haven't bought any filters yet!
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if you could help me out with a small problem.
I've just bought what I thought was a Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX DG from Ebay. Turn out the lens the seller sent me was the slightly older Non DG version.
Is the old lens just as good as the new one? Therefore, should I...
Hi Guys n Girls,
I'm getting married on the 25th of April 2009 and I'm looking for a photographer!
We would like someone who can be there for most of the day taking both formal and informal/candid photographs.
Final photographs could supplied as an album but defiantly on CD/DVD to be...
ROFL
Wouldn't the cheapest and best solution be something like a physical plate which moves across the entrance area before removing the lens, therefore, zero chance of dust entering the area inside the camera.
