Errrrr. Connecting to the camera and then taking photos :)
The main answer is probably portraits but I suppose that depends on how creative you wan to be!
I've recently started taking some pics with my iPhone due to the fact that I had been at work and didn't want to lug my 50D to work and back.
I've not done anything with the pics, just upload them straight to flickr and my photoblog.
OK, here's a quick edit.
In PS CS3. I did the following
Bit of healing on the woman's arm
Curves layer set to Medium Contrast
Levels layer set to Auto
Hue/Saturation - Changed the saturation on the green channel
Then Merged the layers
Did a Image --> Adjustments --> Shadow/Highlight...
I'm no expert so take anything I say with a pinch of salt....
The hair seems to be the focus point in the photo, I think it would be better if the ring was in focus and the couple slightly blurred. Or the ring and the couple's faces in focus. (could be the screen on my Macbook though)
I would...
You know it's bad when you have a dream that you're grip on your camera has been stolen and crying about it.... Thankfully I woke before the camera was gone too. Phew!!
nice one, well done. It's a great feeling getting your first DSLR, I was the same when I got my 50D in September last year. Just waiting for my 4th lens and a few other bits just to add to the ever growing collection of stuff.
Enjoy!
I don't think you will ever photograph something like that and not get a reflection. I think it would be best to try and keep the reflection to a minimum then you could possible remove it in post processing.
Just my tuppence worth !
