Some great photos (and bikes ) there Trevor. Reminds me that I should photograph my dad's collection of bikes, one day ! Really like the angles and light in these photos !

I suspect that the Sony 100-400 GM has great advantages such as being sharper across the frame and better build quality etc.....
As for weight, the Sony 100-400 GM is broadly the same weight as my Canon 100-500 and those extra 200+ grammes do add-up. I was hand-holding the Sigma 100-400 static...
Hi John, I am recently coming from the Canon R5 with 100-500 and 500f4ii lenses for wildlife and the Sony/Sigma combination is just so light that it is a pleasure to use. I have the Sony 200-600 on the way for occasional hide use. I did a bit of testing on the Sigma 100-400 and found my copy to...
Hi all
I have not posted here for a while (outside of the sales section), due to being incredibly-busy at work. However, as retirement beckons, I intend to spend more time on my passions which include photography. Due to having a dodgy knee I have decided to lightweight my gear and have...
I have not posted on TP for many years but am considering purchasing the Sony A74 plus 200-600 lens so thought that I would take a quick look at this thread.
Lots of great images throughout but the dunnock shot above is simply amazing !
VERY nice capture Ant.
Would be delighted to find out...
I just purchased a x1.4TC from MPB for use with my D810/Sigma 150-600C combination. I will give it a proper test at the weekend and report here how well, or otherwise, it works.
Hi all
Please accept my apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.
Anyway, I am seriously thinking of getting a D850 to replace my D810 for wildlife. In dull conditions, I am constantly in the iso 1600-3200 range.
I have looked at the DP Review comparometer tool and the D850 seems to give...
Hi Peter
Highlights are a bit blown but a cracking shot nonetheless. Some great detail shows the resolving power of this lens, particularly when stopped down a bit. Nice capture !
I have had most lenses in this FL range and without a doubt would go for the Nikon 16-35 f4 VR in your shoes. It is a solid performing lens without the bulbous front element of some of the UWAs. If you get a good used copy you cannot go wrong !
Hi Ploddles
Thanks for the input above. Given the reported excellent AF capabilities of the 1Dx2 then this does not sound promising !
I now have a Nikon D810 which has a handy DX mode meaning that it is effectively a 16MP crop camera. I might have to live with that !
Thanks again for sharing...
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere on this thread. I was wondering whether or not anyone here uses their 150-600C with the Sigma x1.4TC ? If so, how badly doe this influence the AF speed and sharpness ?
In short, I am wondering whether I can get away with using this lens plus x1.4TC...
Hi snerkler
Thanks for the steer above. Points 1, 2 and 6 are important to me. I think there is a compelling case to get one of these. With-or-without the 16-80 kit lens seems to be the choice now !
Anyway, thanks again.
