Thought I'd try something a bit more adventurous than normal, so...
Lot of things done (all in LR4) but essentially:
- 16:9 crop
- Converted to B&W, tweaking color mix to exaggerate contrast on wall
- Bottom-up gradient to boost clarity/contrast/sharpness of harbour wall
- Top-down...
Here's mine:
In LR4:
- B/W Conversion
- 8x10 crop
- Sharpen with mask
- Cranked up clarity
- Picked up a couple of highlights with adjustment brush
- Lowered highlights, raised shadows
- Raised exposure slightly
- Vignette via lens correction
- Cloned a couple things out of the foreground
Well done Stormcrow!
Your big stopper may have blue'd things up but it's not nearly as bad as my Hi-Tech.
Here's a quick go from me in LR4:
- 16:9 crop
- upped the clarity a fair a whack
- tweaks to contrast, blacks, shadows and lifted exposure slightly
- strong sharpening with big...
Some really nice edits here but the one that stands out for me is the one by AndrewP. That crop and flip really works for me!

2) In PS I cloned out the wires, and cloned some of the cloud detail from the top of the pic down lower into the body of heavy cloud. This enabled me to crop out the pole while still retaining...
OK, decision time.. I'm going with Flying giraffe's edit because when I started trying to edit the photo myself, it was his approach that seemed most natural to me. So, inspired by the long necked aviator, here's my take:

Many thanks Stephen!
I'm just back from a slightly disappointing sunset trip up Ben A'an (clouds didn't cooperate), so I'll probably pick one of those shots as the next target. Very late now so I'll post up the RAW first thing tomorrow (Thurs).
