    Beginner 600D + YN-565EX II TTL

Hi guys, This is probably a very silly question, not then I'm told there aren't any. Anyway, I have a 600D that is all the camera I'm going to need for the foreseeable future, but I've decided is like a proper flash. I've been recommended Yongnuo, and the 565EX II TTL seems perfect for...

    Tablet For Photo Back-Up/Editing

Re PS Touch, it is watered down, but has many powerful features, too many for me to list. Do a Google and read a couple of reviews for the feature list. I've used it for a year or so, never been in a position where it wouldn't do what I wanted with a little persistence, but it won't do...

    Tablet For Photo Back-Up/Editing

I'm restricted to Android for all my editing. Old laptop that is barely fast enough to handle transferring of files, so I run Adobe photoshop touch, much better than express, with many core 'proper' photoshop features. I've also recently bought 'Photo mate R2' for developing of RAW files...

What is the best Macro lens for a Canon dslr to take photos of insects?

The sigma 105mm certainly looks like a very strong contender to the 100L, having looked at reviews and forum feedback. But I'd say the MPE 65 is probably still the 'best on the market' for hardcore macro.

Slater lost "Monkey Photo" copyright case.

I don't know if this has been covered, but if the image was shot in RAW, and he processed it, surely that's the clincher? (obviously not seeing as he lost but that's probably more to do with money than legalities)

Beginner Odd metering discrepancy between liveview and view finder with ND grad

Thanks guys, I'll have a look for the view finder cover but I'll test tomorrow just blacking it out.

    Upgrading from 1000d

With that budget and the fact you don't mind going second hand, I would be looking at a 70D personally. I love the flip out screen on my 600D, the movie AF is excellent, it shares the same phase detect excellent focus system as the 7D. It's what I'm looking at for my next body and im very...

Beginner Odd metering discrepancy between liveview and view finder with ND grad

Wasn't sure where to put this... I have a canon 600d and yesterday bought a hama ND vario. I'm currently having a little play, and have noticed a metering difference between the two viewing modes. Whilst at the lightest setting on the ND, liveview reads 1/3rd of a stop over the view...

Distinguishing the great skill and creativity from the quality of the equipment of a photographer

Oh yes I agree, hence; " Whilst I may not be able to determine skill (how well they can control their cameras settings, knowing what they do and how to use them), I think glancing at what's hanging around someone's neck gives a good idea of their 'creativity'...." Certain lenses can give a...

Distinguishing the great skill and creativity from the quality of the equipment of a photographer

I can agree with alot written in this thread. But my interpretation of the OP is slightly different. Whilst I may not be able to determine skill (how well they can control their cameras settings, knowing what they do and how to use them), I think glancing at what's hanging around someone's...

What have you done with your camera today

Bought a set of extention tubes to dabble in macro and a graduated ND filter for some daytime long exposures. Also tried some more splashes.
