I'm there for a day so not much time to scout around for a good deal and will likely be jetlagged. Ordering via a website now like Panamoz seems a better option.
Thanks all for the info. After reading it all it,the savings don't seem as worthwhile as I first might have thought. Also I'm crap at hagging for a discount so think I'll save my money and take pictures of the sights of Hong Kong!
I'm flying long haul on holiday this year and will have a day's stop over in Hong Kong. I've seen many threads about buying from the UK but wondering if anyone has any experience and recommendation about buying out there?
Where to go, what to look out for, warrantees and how to price things up...
Thanks all for the advice.
I'm not sure how fragile the heads generally are and want to make sure they are secure. May have a look at suitcases but as Jonathan mentioned, they are Lencarta Smartflashes which are a bit of a weird shape, so not easy to pack.
The cheapest bag on their site is £75...
I'm looking for a bag to transport and store my studio equipement when it's not in use. Specifically it would need to store 3 Lencarta speedlites heads plus cables and accessories (light meter, wireless triggers...etc). They are currently in the cardboard boxes they came in, but thats not great...
Thanks for the update. Understand the recycle time and battery life are limitations but so is my budget and already have the kit.
Have rf-603 triggers so adding one extra should work for the speedlight.
Slightly off topic but whilst we are talking about the floor I have a question.
I have only two studio light for my hi-lite and was thinking of getting another one, but was wondering would a speedlight work in conjunction with my studio lights for the floor?
I have 2 x 200W lights and a 430...
Thanks for this insight Hodders. I think I'm in the same situation as the hilite was from a studio and kept up but out of the sun.
Will try the colour adjustment you suggest. Any recommendations as to where to get the gels or how best to use them?
Cheers
Not sure how old it is. Was told it hadn't been used much but could have been toldme porkies. I got it cheap so can't be too unhappy if this is the case.
If this is the case is there a way to work around it and make it less noticeable? Brighter lights, white balance, photoshop????:thinking...
The reflector is a just a sheet of tin foil on the other side to try to balance the sides. I normally don't use this and have the colour issue regardless of the using a reflector or not.
I meter to the centre about an inch away from the surface, with the light meter facing the hilite.
When...
I've had my highlight out a few times and I am starting to notice an issue with it.
Firstly I'm having trouble getting the setting right using a light meter. Can get the background to somewhere between f11 and f16, but can't seem to get the key light much higher than that. Thing is the photos...
Not sure I see a yellow cast, though I am a bit colour blind and this monitor isn't set up well. I would say that room I took the shot in was beige and so that could be contributing wwith the lighting not being 100% set up right.
And will put lightroom on my Christmas list as it is getting a...
Thanks for the links. Budget won't stretch to another light for the moment but may experiment with my speedlite to fill in the train.
Think I need to get some good software as well. See that elements 11 is out. Doubt I coud afford photoshop but not sure if lightroom or elements is the way to go.
