A friend recently set me a challenge of picking a cd at random off my shelf and then doing a shot for each song title. Simple enough and I didn't take any award winning stuff but it got me thinking.
Thanks for that twist. I think it would be fine for me. Plus I don't think I d be cropping that tight anyway. Think I might go for it. It seems a good step up from a x20.
Well that was more entertaining than I had planned. Genuinely thanks for the opinions, it's always nice to get both sides. I want a camera I will carry with me more. So this is why the x20/x100 choices where appearing. I also want a view finder. Plus great IQ and the moon on a stick all for £400...
Have looked at the rx100 but I ve got quite big hands and I struggled to get a descent grip on it without hitting several buttons. I ll look into the xa1, thanks.
An x100? I m after a take anywhere camera that ll take good low light images , without relying on flash . Have great IQ . Deliver some dof for portraits and shots of my newborn son. I was going to get the x20 but I can get an x100 secondhand for similar money. However I ve heard a lot of people...
Thanks for the ideas. Size is not a major issue so dslr is fine. The sony looks great but I m wary of the control system having had a nex 3 and getting really frustrated by the lack of a physical mode dial and other menu issues . How does the rx 100 handle?
Can any one offer up any recommendations for a camera that would for fill some of the following criteria .
£500 budget
Mainly for taking pictures of my baby and people
Good low light ability
Descent auto focus
Not worried about new or secondhand
Easy to change settings with out lots of button...
The only lens I have at the moment is the 16mm pancake, as at the time I wanted pocketable travel camera. Due to the fact that in 6 days my first child is meant to arrive I now want a more applicable lens for taking pictures of him/her. The legacy route is interesting but would I need adapters...
Thanks for the advise. Looks like the 50 mm may well be the one to go for. I ve also seen the 35 mm 1.8 . It's a bit more money but would it be a better choice ?
