    Choosing a new system

Thanks all for the replies. I think all things considered I should stick with the A6000 for now. After all it is the size of this that has got me out taking the camera with me again. I think what I'm really missing is my old 16-35 and after reading a lot of reviews it sounds like the best option...

    Choosing a new system

Hi all I'm getting back in to photography after a good few years. I used to have a Canon 5Dmk1 with 16-35 and 70-200 etc and was big in to landscapes. I sold all this a while ago and switched to a Sony A6000 with kit lens and a Sigma 30 2.8 which has been the kit to get me back in to...

    NOOB, NEED HELP PHOTOGRAPHING AURORA,

Hi, thanks. Set up I used for this was: Tripod Mirror Lock Up For focusing I actually set up just before darkness fell and focused on the mountain in the distance, set to manual focus and taped the lens there to be ready for the night (leaving my tripod in the same place) I used an ISO of 1600...

    NOOB, NEED HELP PHOTOGRAPHING AURORA,

Hey mate, I went to Iceland last year and was lucky enough to get a glimpse of the aurora. I went in April, which isnt the best time to see them so got lucky - although did put in the effort. Drove to the spot (away from any lights in the middle of the night and waited 7 nights in a row!)

What lens should i buy next?

I have bought and sold quite a few lenses, and have settled with a 16-35, 50, and a 70-200. Suits just about everything for me, and I haven't felt the need to upgrade for the past 2 years, just been enjoying using it. I got a macro but found I got bored with it pretty quickly - its a bit of...

what lenses for my canon 500D, newbie big time...

Hi, when I bought my first camera 450D + kit lens, I did exactly as you want to and bought the 55-250. However I just sold the 55-250 a few months ago, having used it about 10 times in 3 years! I just didn't use the focal range of that lens. If I were you I would try out just the kit lens for...

    Scotland trip advice please!

Thanks for the comment! For the water effect I use filters, although the blurry water comes from longer shutter speeds so a filter is only necessary if the natural light doesn't produce a long enough shutter speed. None of my images are HDR but I use graduated neutral density filters on...
