    fake dof

I've been thinking of taking a picture which fakes the depth of field to make a small item close up look like a much larger item in the distance. The hope was to take a photo of a toy car close to the camera and have someone in the distance jumping, which would look like they're on top of the...

    best-battery-charger.com

cheers all. ive been looking at the en-el15 batteries for the D7000 and havent found any other knock-off cheap ones elsewhere so thought it might be a bargain. having had the evening to think about it, i might just wait for a genuine one to come up second hand.

    aperture calcs

thanks all. i think this bit answers my question. In my mind I'd considered the focal length to be relational to the amount of light which could be captured. In reality its just the wider lens's which have the bigger apertures due to the glass. so a photo shot at 17mm 2.8 would look as...

    aperture calcs

I've looked into the differences f-stops make in the past, but earlier tried to compare a 30mm f1.4 lens to a 17mm f2.8 after reading some info on http://www.uscoles.com/fstop.htm i put the calculations into my own spreadsheet and found a 30mm f1.4 lens has an aperture area of 361 sq.mm, but...

    skyports

10 minutes googling hasnt provided me with an answer so i thought i'd ask the experts. can you trigger more than one flash with 1 skyport receiver? im assuming theres a 2 way dongle/adapter you can get which would split the signal and all multiples to fire? ta for any help

new smaller more powerful flashes in the pipeline?

I'm sure I read somewhere the next gen of flashes arent far away which would be smaller, lighter and brighter, but I cant remember where. I read strobist (ofc) and the occasional mag. Did I dream this nugget of info, or could someone point me to a link with more detail? ta.

    Which Nikon wide prime?

I've got the sigma 30mm already which was great for my D40x as it has the HSM, but seems a little heavy now with the D200. I wonder if its worth changing?
