to me (macbook pro) un-calibrated image look darker, calibrated looks now like a bit overexposed

I`m using Gary Fong puffer pop-up flash diffuser, bought it few years back from ebay for much less than they are listed now, works well for me.

I had from them Sigma 30mm 1.4, extended warranty and express shipping for good price.

New camera would be limited by the kit lens (even 50D probably is), its waste of time, with a new lens You can get much more from 50D, and than save and upgrade Your camera.
