I got a 450D just before Christmas and have been hapily using the kit lens and nifty fifty since. I dont shoot one type of subject in particular, just whatever catches my eye. I now want to get a telephoto and have read good things about both the Sigma 70-300mm APO Macro Super and Canon...
I'd echo the subtlety suggestion. The PP version looks like a HDR image, which in this instance I think is unnecessary. DekHog's is a good example of how to make it a lot more punchy whilst keeping it look lifelike and as if no PP may have been done.
nifty 50 always attached to mine. As long as you're not connecting an absolute monster of a lens I would think the possibility of the lens acting as a lever and thus damaging anything is extremely low - much more so than getting something horrible in the camera when taking the lens off and on...
Too much money's been poured in to 3d films for it to just be a passing fad - the studios will force it to be de-rigeur. In photography I think it serves less of a purpose and is less likely to take off.
