Has your laptop got a firewire port? if so i would say get the sandisk extreme firewire reader, its not cheap, but its unbelievably fast.

i know what you mean, the only reason really for me is the fact it has individual inks, whereas the 1290 doesn't, and its quite annoying throwing away a cartridge just because 1 colour has run out.

hi, im having trouble opening pics in CS2, the pics are in CR2 format from my 40D which it says it cant recognize. ive tried loading on the new camera raw plugin but with no luck so far. im using mac os x by the way. :shrug:

i did have a look, but im thinking for my main/general lens it may just be lacking a bit at the long end. its a real shame they dont do a 17-70L, or somewhere thereabouts
