Whats the best settings to use for astrophotography ?

wow that was great i stood out my back garden for 30mins anyway i got 1 picture out of it lol :) didn't have a clue what settings to use but really enjoyed it none the less. Heres my photo :) Unfortunately some street lights polluted the image.

Your probably right im not :thinking: sure what it is, I just used google image :p to try and find out. It does look like the same type of bird from Monkeydaves pic
