Going to Tanzania, need a new lens recommendation.

Well I have just returned from my trip which was awesome, I stuck with the 300mm lens which was OK but I could have done with a 600 on a few occasions. There was one particular occasion where there were some lion cubs playing but the 300 wasn't quite up to the job. Here are a few of my favs:

Thanks for the replies, if I have to spend a bit more I will :). Anyway in answer to Chewys question; me and a friend are going to fly to Mwanza, then hire a 4x4 and self drive to the Serengeti & Ngorongoro crater looking for the widebeest and other things to photograph :).

Going to Tanzania, need a new lens recommendation.

I have always been an Olympus fan (sorry C & N users). I currently have a E-410 with a 17.5-45mm and a 40-150mm lens, because of the 2x focal length these factors are obviously doubled. I am currently considering purchasing a E-510 body and 2 more lenses to add to my kit. I am going to...

    Large format framing?

I have recently taken a photograph for a client that is 3.2m x 60cm (126" x 24"). The client has asked for the photograph to be mounted and framed behind glass, and now I am stuck. I have tried a few local framing companies here in Devon, they all say they can frame it but the glass is a...

Seems that nobody has mentioned Flickr. 1. Get a Flickr account if you don't already have one www.flickr.com. 2. Upload as many pics as you want, add the tag "slideshow" to the photos that you want to include in the slideshow. 3. Go to http://idgettr.com/ to get your Flickr id 4. Copy and...

Buying an SLR on a budget

I have a suggestion: Olympus E-410 from PC World, great camera with liveview! £350 from PC World, and you get £50 cashback from Olympus! Making the price £ 300! THen you can buy an adapter from Ebay for about £6 and use all the old OM lenses. You can't go wrong, it's a great DSLR, trust me, I...

Thanks, this is ideal, but £5K for a pole! I could get my private pilots license for that and do it myself :).

Need to get the camera up high, suggestions appreciated.

Hello, I'm new here, my real name is Jez and I am from the UK, but currently live in Spain. I have recently started a business taking photographs of peoples properties when they want to sell them. The idea behind the business is to offer a much better service that the estate agent can...
