Advice needed for British Grand Prix

Thanks all. JayJay, we have infield tickets too and I'm trying to decide if I want to be inside or out for the race. Don't want to loose too much time exploring on the Saturday. Good idea about using FP for photos, although I'll probably get some shots during qualy too (I can't get there on...

    Car/caravan weights match

Good tip about going to a weighbridge. I'm pretty careful over weights when towing, but I was 100Kgs over (or, should I say, Mrs Ted was a 100Kgs over!). And keep heavy items (awning etc) over the axle when loading. If you are struggling to reduce noseweight, don't be tempted to move a heavy...

Advice needed for British Grand Prix

Thanks guys! That's a wonderful guide. If my images are half as good, no 10% as good as his, I'll be made up. I've had some great results over the years at various rallies, but those cars are way slower than F1.

Advice needed for British Grand Prix

Hi All. It's been (literally) years since I looked in here. But I need your advice. My good lady wife has bought me tickets for Silverstone!! Wahey!! I've never been and want to make the most of the trip.I plan to sped some of Saturday looking for a good spot for SUnday's race, but don't want...

A 'horse' portrait... how did I let myself get talked into that? **Pics added**

Mmmm. I found that out when I accidentally left my flash mode to auto and it went! The horse went pretty quickly too

Any tips on how to photograph rally cars?

I don't like this "Designated Area" business. When I used to follow the Rally GB you could walk down the stage until you found a decent spot. The only restrictions were on the really bad bends. Got to admit, the marshalls at the YOrkshire Rally were fair about this, as long as we were being safe.

    Commuting to work ~ Miles?

17 miles each way. Takes about 45 mins each way.

    Own worst critic?

Been there, still doing that! I started a thread on another forum ( Pentax User ), Titled, "How Pentax User ruined my photographs". Called it that to get it noticed! But it was true. Having learned a bit, I couldn't look at my old photos without seeing all the faults!

Any tips on how to photograph rally cars?

I was at the Yorkshire Rally a couple of weeks back and took a 70 -300mm and an 18 - 55mm. Managed to get some quite useable shots with them. Panning and using a slower shutter speed can, if you get it right, produce some nice shots. Most of mine were with faster shutter speeds to freeze the...

    Hi folks!!!

Hi guys ( and girls!) Just registered, thought I'd pop in to say hi! I got a DSLR 1 1/2 years ago and I'm still very much a learner, ( I never was artistic). So any advice will be gratefully received ;) Regards, Ted.
