Well, the missus just ordered my bday pressie. A nifty fifty! Huzzah! Bit annoying as they were sub £50, and they're now £80 to buy. But i'm looking forward to lots of nice portraits of the dog!

Hi guys, We're limniting bday presents at £100 this year. So just wondering. Should i opt for the nifty fifty for my canon 450d. or would a benefit from a flash? And if so, what flash can i get for a canon for sub £100?! Cheers!

Aye, prices shooting up at the mo sadly. The sony Alpha a200 went from £200 to £250!! And the 50mm 1.8 was £51, now £81!!! Bloody recession! They think consumers have lost confidence. Its not that, we can't afford owt now!

Having taken some close up shots of the dogs face the other day, think i need a flash! Also, does anyone know what aperture i should be using? 60W bulb near the dog, about 30cm from her face at 18mm.. think i was using 4.0, and everything was out of pin sharp focus except the middle of her nose?!

iso rating is the sensitivity. so 100 iso is great for sunny days and generally clearest. you could use something like 3200 iso for indoor shots without flash, but they would generally look shocking as the noise is too great then! I would also promote the canon brand! i love the feel of them in...

Had a big stinking curry to celebrate the gfs exam success. kind of put me back a week! So i did 5km on the running machine today, and 4.5km on the rowing machine. Burned 840 calories! Impressed! So got my weight back to 16st 13.. it was starting to creep back up!

Everyone can join! We only ask that you name and shame your weight! So we can keep an eye on each other! Tonight i ran 4km in 29 mins, and rowed 4km on setting 6 (out of 10) in about 17m 20s. Thats almost 600 calories burned!! So that should be another millionth of a pound burned off!

Wow! weighed myself and i'm at 16st 13lb! So practically a stone less than new year! 40 days without chocolate now too! Come on guys! This is gonna be a great weight loss year!

Ooh, had the hangover from hell on sunday and lost 1/2 stone in a day! sadly it came back once i'd stopped throwing up, but ah well! Was nice to see myself at 17st 1lb for a bit!
