How many of you togs also have a compact camera in your bag?

I only have a Canon A710 with CHDK firmware, It takes some great shots and the CHDK gives you many of the features normally found on an SLR eg: bracketing, timelapse, long shutter-speeds... even motion detection! Of course this doesnt make up for and SLR's sheer quality of build or flexibility...

    Mini Studio...

Recently finished a home greenscreen studio in the garage, lit by three 150W floodlights. My father and I designed and built the whole thing ourselves... It works but: 1: The material is not bright enough green to achieve reliable keying. 2: I need to clear out the garage before we can...

    Old Lenses

Thanks for the feedback guys... From the info here, I'm guessing it's probably more cost effective to try and get a cheap lens kit like cowasaki suggested, rather than lose a lot of quality and features by using an expensive adaptor. Ebay here I come... :)

    Old Lenses

I'm curently looking to buy an SLR when I get enough money! But when I do, I'll be getting a Canon 450D. I don't know off the top of my head what lenses he has, I just wanted to know generally what compatablilty issues there are, and how much people pay for adapters for this kind of thing. :)...

    Old Lenses

I know sombody that used to be a photographer, and has an old (film) SLR, and a set of lenses that I might be able to use. Seing as I have next to no money to buy lenses with, I was wondering if it is possible to attach old lenses to modern SLRs, and what adaptors I would need. Thanks :)

Basic Video Editing Software, Need Help!

If you use windows then use windows movie maker, if you use a mac, then use imovie, they are both very basic and easy to use free programs. However, for playing 3gp you may need either a codec or a converter (many free options, just google it) Try this free converter, it was the first thing...

    Hi from escapement.0

Hi! I'm a fairly experienced amateur photographer on a very tight budget, so I believe very much in the philosophy that you do not need an expensive camera to take good photos! I look forward to discussing photography on this forum. :) *EDIT* It is also worth noting that I am very good...

    batch resize?

PSE batch process does give options for resolution in dpi as well as width/height in cm, and also quality and file type conversion settings. (but no indication of file size...) If you want to see the file size, you can use the 'save for web' tool, but last time I checked you could only change...

    batch resize?

    1. Chuck out your Mac and get a PC. 2. Get Photoshop (or photoshop elements 7 if like me you are on a very tight buget) 3. File --> Process multiple files 4. Select source and destination folders 5. Tick resize images, enter a resolution and click ok. 6. Upload it all to flikr. BINGO! :)
