Brian Thanks for the suggestion. However I already have the Olympus body so I can't see myself starting another investment chain in Canon bodies and lenses. Jeff

Steve Good point on the lens upgrade. Something is likely to come from Olympus eventually as they seem to be fully committed to micro 4/3. Jeff

    Beginner help

Steven Thanks for taking the time to reply. It seems as if it's a balance between the bigger f number Panasonic making it easier to focus and use shorter SS and the bigger and better sensor in the Olympus but the lens available produces the opposite focus and SS effect I think both cameras use...

    Beginner help

Mike Thanks for the reply. I already have the Olympus body which is why one of my friends advised just add an Olympus lens. The Panasonic would be a new purchase so I'm trying to decide which alternative is best. I realize that specialist bird photographers probably go with canikon and a big...

    Beginner help

I hope this is the best place to ask this question I'm an aspiring bird photographer with several years experience of general photography. I'm being told by some of my friends that the Panasonic FZ 200 24X zoom with constant f/2.8 would be good. Others say just add an Olympus ED75-300mm zoom...

Help please. I'm considering a Panasonic Lumix G vario 100-300mm f/4-5.6 vs Olympus ED 75-300mm f/4-6.7 for bird photography on my new M1 which is on order. Which lens is best for image quality? Someone has suggested a better approach is just to add a camera i.e.the Panasonic Bridge camera FZ200...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Thanks for this. I have just sold my heavy Canon 7D and f/2.8 zooms so I'm looking for something light with a good choice of lenses and good but not fantastic image quality. M4/3 seemed to fill my requirements. Mostly I shoot street, portraits and landscapes and I travel a lot. As other...

I've looked at this and several others. This looks like hot stuff in terms of specs although of course we have to wait for image quality assessments. Park Cameras has these available to handle and discuss with Panasonic reps every Saturday in August. Worth going maybe. Anyone know when...

David, Paul These are fantastic images. Just proves once again there is no need for big clunky heavy inconvenient CaNikons I've just sold all my Canon equipment and am waiting to see what, if anything, is announced by Olympus in September before taking the plunge

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Just coming to the end of selling my Canon equipment and considering replacing it with OMD. Big issue for me is to be able to use filters. Do Olympus lenses allow filters and for that matter lens hoods? Advice please? Thanks
