What I'm trying to do is is take a studio shot of a row of people (say about 8 people) and then create a police line up 'layer' to go behind the people shot, so it really does look like a police line up.
Does anyone know the best was to create a line up layer in photoshop...
I wouldn't get 'too' technical for a family holiday.
Shoot jpegs, use aperture priority (AV) for portraits (wide aperture / small number) and also for landscapes (narrow aperture / large number)
If taking 'action' shots of kids jumping in pool or birds in flight etc, use shutter priority...
I've used Blurb for a few years now. The books are excellent and the 'booksmart' software is pretty decent too. Not the best, but pretty useful and easy to use.

I'd say the same as this. The 5D classic (mkI effectively) is still a great camera and it's a good move up for you, from a 450D. At least you'd have £200 to go towards better glass, which you really should be looking at if you go full frame.
Does anyone know what the exact procedure is in both PP and LR please? I would be looking at doing this for 50 pictures so would need to know how to include all 50 pictures with the same command? Thanks
Thanks for your reply. I want consistent and equal lighting for each picture although a different subject each time. The subject will be in exactly the same spot each time. How would you suggest to light up with only 2 lights being used/available? Thanks
