A photo from last nights Sunset, taken on the X70 with the wide angle convertor lens attached.
I've got to say I'm enjoying using this setup.
Simple Sunset by Edd Cope, on Flickr
I've been a long-term Canon DSLR owner and decided to purchase the X70 as a lighter weight travel camera.
I've owned it for around 3 months and my overall impression is that it is a fantastic little camera.
It took some getting used to, due to the lack of view finder, but once you adapt the...
Thank you all for the responses.
@wuyanxu you may have a good point there. To have the flexibility of focal lengths could well be the crucial factor, as you say otherwise the photos may all end up feeling the same due to the fixed focal length. The only problem is I am really enjoying the X70...
I've also been having a further look at other options this afternoon as an alternative to the X70.
Sticking with Fuji the x-m1 seems a good option, used I can pick it up with a 16-50mm for around £300.
Would I notice a big difference between the x70 and x-m1 in terms of use? Is the Af and...
Thank you for the reply @wuyanxu and your opinion.
Do you think the fixed focal length of the x70 is a cause for concern, for example when I want to capture New Zealand landscapes, etc.
I guess a further option would be to get a Fuji X-A2 instead of the X70, offering similar size but...
Hello All,
I am after some opinions please. I have been a long time Canon DSLR user, next year I am going on a long term trip to Australia and New Zealand, although I'd love to take my SLR with all my lenses space and weight are at a premium. I also plan to do plenty of hiking and exploring so...
Hello All,
I am taking a trip to Snowdonia this weekend and hope to catch a sunset.
I was just wondering if there are any spots which are recommended for shooting a sunset. Ideally any lakes with the mountains reflected or indeed good views of the mountains themselves as the sun goes down...
Thanks Marie, that's exactly my reason for going for the 13" MBP retina over 15", for the portability.
Great to hear from someone else that the 13" screen is good for PS editing.
Just done a bit of research:
The 17" iMac I use currently has a resolution of 1440x900 pixels
The 13" MBP retina has a retina resolution of 2560x1600 pixels
On that basis I should be much better off with the MBP, my only concern is does the MBP run photoshop at that retina resolution?
Thank you for the replies guys.
I was just wondering if anyone has experience of using the 13" Retina display with photoshop, is the screen too small even with retina?
Hi,
Thank you for the reply.
I was thining of trying the 13" MBP retina at an Apple Store before I decide.
I'm thinking due to the high pixel density of the retina display then the canvas available to work on should be fairly good?
My concern also is about the power of the 13" MBP, is it...
Hello All,
My first time posting in a while and I am after some advice.
As the title of the thread I am contemplating getting a new 13" MacBook Pro with retina display for photo editing purposes. I usually use Photoshop CS and take everything in RAW.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience...
I've been having a good look around for reviews on the Samyang 8mm Fisheye.
Seems a very good price for £200, I was worried it would be nasty quality and poor image quality, but that appears to not be the case.
Has anyone got any first hand experience of using this lens?
