I tried EOSinfo for my 400d I was selling but no joy, I checked my 40d and that worked. I know that the shutter only has a lifespan of so many thousand movements, but does it really matter when the camera is out of warranty?

Another thumbs up for the F4 version, really impressed with it on my 40d, upgraded from a sigma 70-300. I got a 2nd hand from the classified on here and figured that if I wanted to move up to either the IS version or F2.8 it would be an easy trade up, or maybe the 1.4tc, decision decisions.

I think my skill and ability are still low buy my level of expectation is quite high, I spend more time thinking before random shooting. I do find at the moment I seem to thrive more on shooting some specific, if I just wonder outside with the camera I struggle to find a purpose for my pictures.

I took some RAW shots a while ago and just loaded them as normal into picasa no problems, If I really want to fiddle I put them into elements 9. Picasa is a free download, and you can do minor tweeks, I used it mainly before getting a Elements recently.

The nifty is great, I would prefer to go for something like a 30mm, the 50mm is a little long on a crop sensor, but don't think I'll ever part with mine!

I would probably add a blue graduated tint just give it some difference, I have never found the sky layer really work on photoshop, never seems to hit the spot.

I have uploaded RAW files in picasa and it applies a basic process to them, just looked a little bland, you should then be able to process and save as jpeg's.

What is wrong with the pictures you are taking, how will changing the body effect this? I changed up to a different body as it was a little physically bigger and shot a faster frame rate, I have never looked back it was the right decision for me, still can't stop buying lens though!
