    Cheap eBay ND Filter

Not always, but why would you want to make your job more difficult by trying to correct an image in photoshop, get it right in camera.

    Cheap eBay ND Filter

Some cheap lens are bad, some are OK and a few produce brilliantly sharp images. If you put a cheap piece of plastic in front of them, it will only degrade the quality ever further. It doesn't matter how much a lens cost, even paying mega money you can get a lemon, but if you have a good lens...

Shoulder bag capable of holding 2 bodies

Have a look at Think Tank Retrospective 20 or 30. The 30 is wider than 20 and can easily accommodate two cameras with lenses and more. I have the 20, it's smaller but taller and can also hold two bodies, one with a mounted lens and the other without a lens in the front pocket.

    Struggling with 580EX

When a camera is in AV or TV mode it will use the flash for fill only and not as a main light source. When shooting indoors, switch to M mode and set the aperture to F5.6 as a starting point. Adjust the shutter speed to control the ambient light (faster shutter = less ambient light and slow...

    580ex to trigger a 430ex

My blood begins to boil then I think about wireless controls on 580EX II :bang:. What designers at Canon thought when designing this feature and what was wrong with the original toggle switch. When I had 5DMII, it was much faster and easer to control the flash trough the camera. I think the...

    580ex to trigger a 430ex

Switch your 580EX to master and 430EX to slave mode. On 580EX press the zoom button so the display's "on" and little flash blinks and turn the dial to select "off". That's it. Now the 580EX will trigger 430EX (quick pre-flash pulses), but will not contribute any light to a scene.

Just ordered -X-Rite Colour Passport... Anygood?

It's ideal for portrait shoots, indoors at a studio or outdoors on location, but for events (mostly weddings) no so, as lighting conditions can be too unpredictable. You can also create calibration presets in LR3 for your camera(s) based on a lighting type (daylight, tungsten etc.), which are...

    Best rechargeable batteries

And another vote for the Sanyo Eneloops. Also, Uniross Hybrio batteries are good. I think they are re-branded Eneloops or at least build on the same technology. I can vouch for Maha MH-C801D charger. Have been using it for about 5 years now, never had any problems. Takes 8 AA or AAA batteries...

    storage/backup

How about 3.5" bare drives and a single/dual docking station with eSATA connection. I have about ten drives stacked up in protective cases that hold my backups, 2nd backups, archives, photo collections and some other stuff.

Real filters or Post Processing Filters?

Upps, forgot about the polarising filters, my mistake. This one can't be faked easily in post, especially it's power to remove reflections from glossy surfaces.

Real filters or Post Processing Filters?

The only ones worth consider are full and split ND filters, anything else can be achieved in postproduction. Actually, the variable ND filter is next on my buy list, as it's very useful in both photography an video.
