Too many Cop Police TV shows

Bosch is based on the series of books by Michael Connelly, which are generally very good. I've never seen the TV series (only have normal TV, and not really interested in paying another subscription) but I've got the first series on DVD which I'll watch during the next lockdown, probably.

Answered The App is dead long live the WWW

My phone is way too old to be using stuff like this. Although it's a smartphone, it's the once-dominant and now-forgotten Symbian platform, so no-one does stuff for it any more.

    Steam train advance information

I wondered if there might be something like that going on, I was trying to phrase the initial post in a way that wasn't just a demanding "why is this excellent free service not as good as it was". Of course, many other things can take priority over keeping such things up to date.

    Steam train advance information

Yes, that's been my problem for quite a few of the local trains this year, no updates for times. I seem to recall earlier on in the year, the times did appear, but not until a couple of days after the train had run, and they weren't Scotsman-hauled so none of the embargo-related stuff.

Excellent, thanks for that @michael23. Looks very good.

    Steam train advance information

What are people using to find advance information about when the various steam-hauled specials are around? I've been using uksteam.info for several years, but the site is showing a last update of March, so it seems that the person looking after it has stopped for whatever reason, hopefully...

What was the last gig you went to?

Most recent was The Stranglers at Manchester Apollo last Saturday night. A cracking gig, with Dr Feelgood as support act / special guest. Last night of the tour, unfortunately, otherwise I'd go to another.

Wales Red Kite locations in Wales

I also visited Gigrin Farm in 2017, and also visited the Elan Valley and had a look around the reservoir there. I didn't really understand until I got there how Gigrin worked - I thought we were just going to a place where Red Kites assemble and feed, in fact it's an organised "feeding frenzy"...

What was the last gig you went to?

Great photos Graham, is that with "proper" access or are they audience shots? My last gig was The Stranglers at Manchester Apollo back in March, and I'm already looking forward to seeing them in the same place next March. Unfortunately they've dropped the Liverpool gig next year, which I...

Is a super zoom needed for motorsport at most tracks?

I have a Sigma 50-500 which I've used at Oulton and Donington, but I tend to find that it's not really used any longer than about the 300mm mark, then cropped. Some of that is to give me a bit of leeway for panning, if I zoom in too close I tend to get more than my share of missing front or rear...

My Guide to Processing (& faking) Motorsport Shots

Yes, quite agree. Apart from anything else I still think fundamentally changing the image in post-processing is a bit "cheating".

My Guide to Processing (& faking) Motorsport Shots

Many thanks, I've downloaded this and if the download ever finishes, I'll be having a look through it. I'm on a very old PS version though, so might have to take your word for some of it. Like @MFlip, I have problems getting anything other than a small section of the car in focus (if that), and...

    Southport Airshow

I went a couple of years ago for the two Lancasters, ended up stood just to the left of the pier on the beach. Weather didn't help that year, clouded over quite badly towards the end of the afternoon, but that's the luck of the draw. I also went on the train, someone I spoke to later had gone by...

Good tutorial video on LR and PS post processing for landscapes

Thanks for the link to that, some interesting stuff and I'll be having a look to see if any of them translate to the software I'm using.

    Beginner Some unusal DSLR questions?

My Kx (not a current model) uses AA batteries, but they really need to be a minimum of Lithium - alkaline ones will whine about being low after you've taken about three photos, though to an extent it's more about the circuit that senses battery life than anything, but it's unnerving once you've...
