    Beginner Two questions

I think that could be the case : the lower the light was, the worse the result was. Does the T stand for "Tungsten"?

    Beginner Two questions

Regarding the Mamiya, it was a gift but one I'd rather not have recieved. A friend of mine had a stroke and he can't use such a heavy camera anymore. I'm not doing very well with this camera : the learing curve is, for me, very steep. I will compare the light meter with that on my digtal camera...

    Beginner Two questions

Thanks for your reply, Chris! I'm using a Canon EOS100 and have a "nifty fifty", a Sigma kit lens and a Canon 70-210 zoom lens. I also have a Mamiya RB67 Pro-S but that's another story altogether!

    Beginner Two questions

I've tried my hand at using film again, for the first time in over 30 years and I feel like a total beginner again. I have two questions. Firstly, can anyone recommend I good processing lab? Secondly, I shot a roll of CineStill 400D and it appears to function poorly in lower light conditions...

    Answered Maximum file size

I have just returned to the Forum after a long absence. Please can you tell me what the maximum file size is that your server will accept. Both "drag 'n' drop and "attach file" have declined my photo. I reduced it in size till it was 2.21MB but it still wouldn't upload. Any help would be...

    Lens Repair

I asked for recommendations from members of a local Facebook photography that I'm a member of and one person very kindly gave me a Sigma 18-50mm lens that is in very good condtion. I can hardly believe that kind of generosity. Many thanks for all the replies and advice given.

    Lens Repair

I looked at the contacts on the lens and the seemed O.K. I got some isopropyl alcohol from Amazon and cleaned the contacts anyway but it made no difference. Fortunately, Musicman mentioned the mpb website which looks really good. In the meantime I'm using the "nifty fifty".

    Lens Repair

Many thanks for the replies, and their promptness! I'm going to have a go at cleaning the contacts. I am informed that isopropyl alcohol may well be a good choice of solvent. I googled it and didn't see any warnings about it's use near plastics. I'll let you all know how I get on.

    Lens Repair

I have a Canon kit lens, 18-55mm, and today the auto focus stopped working. I switched lens to my "nifty fifty" and all was well again. I infer from this that there is a fault on the kit lens. Can such faults be repaired and, if so, what can I expect a ballplark figure for the cost to be...

When a photographer gets it very wrong

As a dabbler in both music and photography, and being a pensioner nowadays, I'd have to say that talent is relative.

    Visit to Newcastle in November

You should have a great time in terms of photography, at least! The Metro is very good and you can easily get to the coast at Sunderland, South Shields and Tynemouth. Also, the Quayside in Newcastle is great for photographing the bridges. Three days in Newcastle is a great photo opportunity. The...

    Copyright

I live in Sunderland where, for quite a few years, we had an International Airshow at which The Red Arrows often gave displays I got some decent pictures of them over the years but I strongly suspect that selling prints of them would be a copyright infringement. Please can anyone let me know if...

    Satirical Web Sites and Copyright.

I suppose almost everyone has seen sites like "NewsThump" etc which publish ludicrously fake and satircal news stories about current affairs and public figures. Not only are the stories clearly untrue but there are always photographs of the public figure in question. Here's a typical example...
