Recently got one from Asda when I had been unable to get one from Tesco.

Just bought a 24-105 from there last Friday after seeing recommendations from Stuart and received it yesterday (Cheers Stuart, £175 cheaper than anywhere in UK I had seen). Would have got it on Thursday but wasn't in for delivery.

While looking for somewhere to go at the weekend, I noticed a photography event advertised on the website for the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre on Saturday 17th March. Couldn't see anything posted on here about it yet so thought I'd post in case anyone is interested.

When using a tripod, i'm pretty sure you need to turn off the image stabilisation as this will cause movement of the lens.

Did you turn IS off?

This morning I ordered myself a 7D. :) I've been waiting on some money coming in and it's tied in nicely with the current price drop at Jacobs to £999 (+ 3% cashback through Quidco). Now to start planning my next upgrade!

I found paypal buyer protection to be a waste of time. As they couldn't get the money back from the sellers account, they didn't get me my £5 back for a CD which wasn't delivered. I only buy low value items now I know the protection isn't great. Was a few years ago so don't know if it's changed.

Thanks for all your replies so far. Am still reading the older threads when I get chance so haven't made my mind up yet. Just have to hope it is not too heavy to be sent to me, whichever I get. I will also have to wait until the beginning of February to use it as I don't have my SLR with me...

I am currently looking at purchasing one of the above and wonder what people would recommend. It is to go with my Canon 450d and I would hope to use it for wildlife and aircraft. However, an extra point to note is that I am currently serving overseas and can purchase either lens from Amazon...
