    Nikon Z* mirrorless

The Z6 is going on a second safari, leaving on Monday to Uganda. This time I've rented the Nikon 400 4.5 to go with the 70-200 and 1.4TC. Hopefully have plenty of focal ranges covered. I'd have loved to have got a Z8 for the trip but the maths didn't add up on this occasion, maybe next time!

Now we've had firmware V3.01 do you think that's it for the major advancements? No other camera has gone past v3.5 IIRC? Or do Nikon have track record of delivering some big changes after a year on the flagship line? I'm toying with the idea of getting one. But wondering if that's it on the...

Thinking of getting a Nikon Z9

My 1.4TC has landed from Nikon directly. It seems like they're back out of stock now so I think I was lucky. Time to experiment with it on the 70-200.

I've bought a 1.4TC from Nikon direct as they apparently had stock in. Let's see about lead times! Next will be the 400 4.5 and a Z9

I need to pick the collective hive mind.... After getting back from Africa I am completely revitalised for wildlife photography. I would like to change my Tamron 150-600G2 for a Nikon prime. Therein lies my dilemma. I wish Nikon made a 300 or 400 2.8 (that I doesn't cost the same as a car!)...

    Africa Photography

I've just returned from Tanzania on safari (post coming soon!). The biggest thing for me was actually the LACK of zoom you need at times! Your experience may differ, but my wife was actually getting some great snaps with just an iPhone. I was using a full frame camera and found the 70-200 to...

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

Has anyone had any experience of using the 300 2.8 VRII on a Z body with the adaptor (ideally a Z6)? I’m interested to know about AF speed/accuracy mainly. Just wrapping up a safari trip where I used the 70-200 Z almost exclusively. Some occasions where more reach would have been ideal.

I bit the bullet today and traded in my Tamron 70-200 G2 for the Nikon Z version. Really excited to give it a quick trial this weekend as we're off to Tanzania on Safari on Tuesday (all being well).

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

It's been a while since I went out with the camera, this past weekend gave me a chance. I've recently got a Tamron 150-600G2 after renting one last summer to take to Norfolk. As I'm going to Tanzania later this year it made sense to get this now so I can practice with it. Managed a few shots...

    Travel tripod

I've had similar thoughts and I really cannot get away from the aluminium Peak Design travel tripod as being the best option, for me at least. The form factor means it can just slip in to the side pocket of the camera bag which will make traveling with it much easier.

Has anyone had any experience with the new 105 macro? Out of stock everywhere, but seemingly getting good reviews. Any better than the previous F mount version?

Black Friday Adobe Code from GAMVIO.com - Fraudulent

I bought a single code, and activated it a while back. I thought I best check.... It turns out they sent me a code for Acrobat  Trying to get a legit code from Gamvio, but I now fear that adding that to my Adobe account might cause me problems down the line.
