Camera with 1" sensor or smaller and remote live view shooting ... is it possible?

Totally agree heidfirst - looks like I'll be keeping my Canon!

Camera with 1" sensor or smaller and remote live view shooting ... is it possible?

I think you misunderstood me. I want to trade down to something simpler but the EM5 MK2 looks like a trade up!

Camera with 1" sensor or smaller and remote live view shooting ... is it possible?

... yes ... but with a price tag like that I don't think I am trading down and suspect it has even more bells and whistles .... ?

Camera with 1" sensor or smaller and remote live view shooting ... is it possible?

Thanks Bob and StewartR for clearing that up! JohnX - I've had a look at the Panasonic LX100 and I don't see an option to connect to a laptop for live preview shooting. It does, like many others, allow you to control the camera via a SmartPhone but I don't see the same sort of EOS Utility...

Camera with 1" sensor or smaller and remote live view shooting ... is it possible?

Following on from my previous thread https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/threads/focal-length-for-product-photography-9mm-or-90mm.652545/ (really appreciate the advice there) I concluded my camera was probably a bit OTT for what I needed so I set off to find a better fit by looking for something...

Focal length for product photography - 9mm or 90mm?

Thanks for all the feedback. I have tried moving the camera further away and it works to some degree but its just another flaff. Ultimately I want a camera that I can connect to a laptop for live view and see the picture I want rather than trying to imagine the cut out bit. I did find the DOF...

Focal length for product photography - 9mm or 90mm?

Thanks Nawty. I know what you mean about lighting but space for a proper set up is one of my limitations. As we only need the images for the web and A4 catalogue type content (no billboards, etc) fiddling with shutter speed and aperture gives us the results we want. But if we can get the results...

Focal length for product photography - 9mm or 90mm?

Thanks stevelmx5. Didn't realise the sensor size played such an important role so really I've probably bought the wrong camera for my needs when I "upgraded". We've been thinking about changing it anyway because its pretty bulky for holidays, weekend trips etc. but I looked at the Canon...

Focal length for product photography - 9mm or 90mm?

Just to set the scene I take shots of ceramic tableware in a tent or on worktops with two or three 100 Watt continuous lights. I'm restricted with lighting because I don't have the space for flash lights with soft boxes. This is our own product, I'm not a professional photographer by any stretch...

Softbox and lighting setup for ceramic tableware shooting

But why is that? Surely a 150cm profold is big enough even if you had to go at it with some scissors and an awful lot of duct tape?

Softbox and lighting setup for ceramic tableware shooting

... so looking at the QuadLite you stock - how large is this softbox? Are you saying that your 70x100cm profold softbox or the 150cm profold could not be used with it? I have also heard LED doesn't do colour well so I had discounted this idea.

Softbox and lighting setup for ceramic tableware shooting

Thanks for the replies: @Bobsyeruncle - assumed there might be trouble if my first post contained a link - hence the format @Kodiak Qc - sorry, yes, continuous light source @Garry Edwards - thanks for the detail. I see many continuous light softboxes around at all prices points. What do you...

Softbox and lighting setup for ceramic tableware shooting

Hi - new to this forum and fairly new to photography! I've managed to sort out a basic tent set up for taking packshots of the ceramic tableware we produce but I now need to create shots of product selections and the tent is too small for that. The space needed is about 70cm x 150cm - say a...
