I guess your advice is probably spot on. A piece of me has obvious reservations about the whole idea and I guess those reservations have a sound basis!
Exactly what I used to do. If you start throwing in cold washes, you will also drop the temp of the next process which can’t be desirable. I used a Jobo processor and everything was warmed up to the bath temp. A simple system.
Many thanks - I had read somewhere that it worked fine with the 1.4. I believe it tries to focus with the 2 but doesn’t. So wondered if the 1.7 was an option at all. Some lenses get on with TCs and some don’t; so it appears to be one that remarkably does….
That funny! Of course photos abound of press shooters with their 4x5 Graflexes in one hand and the 'lightsaber' in the other too... And they had to keep a handkerchief in the camera hand as well so that they didn't burn their hands when changing bulbs in a hurry.

Often. Flash brackets have been around for eons (change the angle of the flash). Catchlights are often much better when caught in a different direction to the camera.
