Yeah, it's a great lens. Brilliant value for money.
I've moved to FF now and kinda miss it as my workhorse landscape lens although I do occasionally use it still, zoomed to 20mm.
I should flog it really but hang onto it for nostalgia haha.
Here's a couple of test shots taken with my ND64 - 6 Stop filters.
I say filter plural as I both both the old and new type. I didn't realise I'd bought the old type until it came so I decided to get the new one and maybe send the older back. Then I was curious to see what they'd be like...
Well a fair few appeared initially. Then I did a rocket blow and used some sensor wipes myself and that got rid of all apart from some in the extreme top right corner (was my first attempt cleaning the sensor  ). After that some more appeared. Seemed like the corner one are more...
I'd say spots showed on mine after 500 or so shots. As above, I bought the camera with full knowledge of the issue. I've lived with it for a couple thousand shots now and am going to get it cleaned this week. Hopefully it won't come back....
Some great examples of these in action here!
How do they perform when they are stacked (say hand held for arguments sake) with a Grad.
I was thinking of getting on of these, or maybe the 6 stop and combining with a HiTech 3 stop reverse grad.
Anyone got any examples of something similar?
I upgrade from D5100 (although I did have some Fx lenses) and I got the 24-85 kit lens. Very impressed with it so far. Nice and sharp. Was surprised to read some bad reviews since having it actually.
I'd go for that and a prime, 50 or 85 for now.
Your DX lenses will work in the d600 btw. It...
I used to have FD 50mm f1.8, 28mm f2.8 and 200mm f-summat on my G2.
I never had that many problems with up to 50mm focusing, especially zooming in the live view. The 200mm was a struggle though.
Maybe try shooting in burst mode.
That's some stunning photography Soma. Welcome to the thread :)
I wish I could have got a Voigtlander 25mm when I had my G2. It's a stunning lens.
I've sold my G2 now but still have a lot of affection for it, hence me keeping tabs on this thread.
I had to make this choice and went for the D5100. I'm very happy with it but maybe should have gone for the D7000 for the autofocus on the body.
I do find the articulated screen useful on the D5100 though.
If a future D7100 had that, I'd probably upgrade.
I've been searching for similar lenses too, for a similar purpose. From the reviews I've read, the Sigma 3.5 version isn't as good as the variable aperture one anyway.
