I look forward to coming along on the next night-time adventure! :D
With the multiple flashes, wouldn't a hand-held flash triggered manually do the trick?

I got asked to do a friend's mum's wedding because they knew I had a "big camera" :bonk: I tried to say no but she was very persistent and eventually I agreed to it.
I made it very clear that I was in no way a good photographer, I had never done a wedding or anything like it before, my photos...
EXACTLY, thankyou.
I was going to use the comparison:- My rowing boat oars are fine in the water, so my dining table should be fine stood in the pond right?
The results of one of countless studies can be found here http://resource.npl.co.uk/docs/networks/tman/090204_moisture/broughton.pdf
Obviously most studies are published in journals/papers that aren't available for free, but if you google the subject you'll appreciate the amount of work that...
Indeed he is correct, water absorption and the subsequent degradation of mechanical properties is the subject of a lot of research in the field of composites. Many factors can vary the degree of damage caused by water absorption. I think it's fair that the manufacturer could assume minimal water...

The 17-70 is possibly a good shout, I've had a little look around and only found one review online but it was positive. I haven't yet bought a third party lens and I'm dubious about quality, it seems a lot of people talk of 'bad copies' all the time and I'd be nervous about ending up with one...
I'm currently using a Canon 28-135is as my walkabout lens, having given the kit lens (18-55is) to my GF with my old 1000D. I'm finding that the short end of the lens is far from wide enough, so I'm after a new short zoom lens. My current shortlist is as follows:-

..or when you check the EXIF on porn :'(
Thanks for the post Terran, just ordered a flipside 300.

Their online purchasing is down at the moment, so orders will need to be placed over the phone, which also means delivery will be to...
