Hi. Just to update my earlier post in this thread... I bought a large hockey kit bag - Mazon tour plus combo - the extra space suiting my needs for extra bits. It looks and feels very robust. It has comfortable shoulder straps and wheels. Time will tell but I'm quite optimistic.
Not so much for images.

No. Its a backup methodology. A device would be an external hard drive, NAS or server.
What you do depends on how careful you want to be and how much you want to spend.
First figure on a single hard drive failing.
Then figure on a power supply failing affecting all backups on each hard drive...
