Canon 5D MKIII official owners/users thread, anything related to the 5D MKIII

Had my 5d3 a couple of weeks now and have to say I *love* it. Having moved from a 7D the biggest step up by far is the ISO performance. I regularly shoot at 12800 now and there is less noise than the 7D has at 3200-6400. Really unbelievable. Regards SD cards, I've got an eye-fi x2 pro 8gb...

    New 5D MK3 revealed

One of the coolest things I noticed that wasn't in any of the literature I've seen is the settings for Auto ISO, you can set the FROM and TO range for acceptable ISO when on Auto, and you can set the minimum shutter speed. Which I think I'd use a lot. eg:- "Pick ISO automatically between 100...

    New 5D MK3 revealed

Haha yeah, how many people do you think we could get to boycott 5D3 until the price hits £2500? Probably not enough I suspect...

    New 5D MK3 revealed

I was lucky enough to have a CPS demo of the 5DmkIII this morning at Focus on Imaging, and took a few quick shots with my 24mm and memory card. Below are examples of the same shot taken (50% crop) at ISO3200,6400,12800,25600:-...

    CF Cards for 7D

I love my Sandisk Extreme Pro 64gb 90MB/S. It cost the earth, but I've never come close to filling it or regretting the purchase in 2 years!

    24mm mkII f1.4 -OR- 35mm f1.4

It has arrived! Nope, I didn't change my mind. 24 millimetres of L series happiness.... It feels much heavier than my 24-105mm, even though it's fractionally lighter. Can't wait to use it in anger

    24mm mkII f1.4 -OR- 35mm f1.4

Thanks for a range of opinions guys! Most appreciated. Especially Baulk who seems to have been in exactly the same situation as me. I'm sure i'll end up with both eventually - but for now. The winner is........... <drum roll> EF 24mm f/1.4 L II USM Cheers

    24mm mkII f1.4 -OR- 35mm f1.4

A 5D MkIII will have to show up before I move to FF, so we're talking at least 12 months before it's a sensible price. So I need something fast at the wide end before then. 24mm is in the lead at the moment, better for 'street shots' and I can always crop in for people. It becomes a super-wide...

    24mm mkII f1.4 -OR- 35mm f1.4

I did that earlier today, and I'm still undecided! On the one hand the 24mm is the latest and greatest, obviously wider, great indoors. On the other hand the 35mm is cheaper, better for group shots, but maybe a bit too long. I'm sure it'd become obvious if I had both in front of me....

    24mm mkII f1.4 -OR- 35mm f1.4

I have a 7D and expect to keep it for roughly another 12 months before going FF. I'm off to Morocco in May and want a fast, wide prime to take with me for capturing the Marrakesh markets & night life. The big question is......35mm or 24mm f1.4??? I've changed my mind every week so far...
