Good point, I have since contacted Canon for information & found them rather lacking, amazing seeing as Nikon & Canon are "supposed" to be premier top of the range brands! BUT the D300 just felt too heavy & over sozed to me coming out an FZ-20, so Canon 40D still favourite at the mo!

Hi Camera guru's, I have now decided on my first DSLR I am buying a 40D, as something I can "grow into" coming from a Lumix FZ20. My First use is likely to be away in a very sandy, hot enviroment & I have decided to start with an ultra-zoom lenses only so i don't need to carry lots of lenses...

Cheers folks, appreciated. Its not easy taking the DSLR leap:thinking:, I do like value for my money! £300 for the Lumix Z20 which has been great.... to £900 odd for the 40D with Tamron A18, just hope I can really "see" the extra quality in auto mode, otherwise I'd rather have gone mid-ground...
