    Wetting Agent

I was given a small bottle of 'Kodak Photo-Flo Solution' when I started developing films more than 60 years ago now. One or two drops in the final wash of each film since and it is still going. I'm pretty sure that it will outlast me.

    Minolta Lens

I'm a great fan of Minolta lenses. I have a Dynax 9 and my favourite 'walkabout' lens is the 28-105. For other uses the primes, 20mm to 500mm catadioptric can all be relied upon to produce quality images. The 50mm and 100mm macro lenses are particularly useful if that is your thing, particularly...

    Nightmare film experience

If I remember correctly when the Paterson System 4 came out centre loading spirals were available as an option. I don't think they were around for long.

    Nightmare film experience

SS spirals need SS tanks. They have no column through the centre so the Paterson light trapping system won't work. I only use a Paterson tank now for sizes I don't have a SS one for - 127 and 220.

    Nightmare film experience

I prefer the stainless steel spirals. They load from the centre outwards so no need to slide.

    Leatherette fixing on vintage cameras.

Another vote for Evo-Stik here. Used it many times to reattach camera coverings. No Superglue! It is a Cyanoacrylate. Adhesive expert colleagues at the reseach company where I used to work told me that it only performs properly in very thin (a few molecules) layers. Hence good for things like...

    Another Sad Goodbye

It never gets any easier does it. Sadly grief is the price we have to pay for love.

    Post processing preferences?

Number one for me. It looks more real - unless you deliberately want an 'interpretation' of the scene. At the end of the day, it's your photograph, make it what you want.

    Motorbikes

Last time I took my Guzzi for an MOT (It's Historic now) the tester smirked as I heaved myself over the machine to ride home. I told him that he would eventually find out that as one approaches 70 it get harder to get your leg over.

    You tubers

I don't watch youtube videos. My favourite manifestation of an interest in photography is to go out and take pictures, develop the film and play in the darkroom. I don't listen to background 'music' either.

Old cameras, sell on or keep?

I love people who sell on cameras. Thanks to the digital revolution I have been able to acquire and enjoy using Bronica, Mamiya, Contax and other kit which I would never have been able to afford otherwise. There are drawbacks, however. I have bought many old cameras for nostalgic reasons. 'I...

    Kodak Camera

I just rewind 120 on to 620 spools.

    If you could only...........

I think that you need to slow down and do less 'research'. I have been using PanF in ID11 for 60 years now. I know how to treat it to get the photographs that I want. I have sometimes used FP4 and in moments of speed maddness HP5! Experience is the way to obtain the images that you seek...

    Bouncing flash

Our house is a 1960s build and has the then fashionable 'textured' ceilings. They are wonderful at scattering bounced flash and create a superb effect. My wife has formulated a redecoration plan which includes skimming over the texture because she doesn't like it. I think my softly lit indoor...
