Camera Bag for iPad2, Camera, Lenses & Flash

I'd recommend the Tamrac Evolution 8. I've got it myself and easily holds my Canon 550D, 3 lenses, a laptop, and plenty of room for more bits and bobs. I love mine and will definitely recommend it to anyone.

    Advice please for newbie

The problem there though is that your budget is quite limiting if you want a new DSLR. Even basic models like the Canon 1000D with a basic kit lens will be around £350 in the shops, whereas you could certainly find a much better camera for the same price in the 2nd hand market. It'll depend on...

    Advice please for newbie

Yeah, I can understand that, but you could always go back to the dealer afterwards and pick up a few bits and pieces (like a bag, cheap lens blower, cloth, things like that). Some dealers have the cameras out on display anyway (the Jessops by me does) so you may not need to take up the time of...

    Advice please for newbie

Does your daughter know you're doing this for her? If so, definitely take her down the local camera shop and get her to hold and play with a few basic cameras from each manufacturer (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax are the main ones I think). Every person is different, and has different sized hands...

Old images taken with a compact being used without permission (Copyright Again Sorry)

Maybe I'm being daft, but I don't really see too many basic differences between the Getty case and this one. Someone is using an image without purchasing the license for it first. The owner of the image finds out, and sends a bill through for the image rights. In the Getty case, the bill was...

Best Wide Angle Lens for Canon 450d

The OP wants a lens wider than the one she's already got, so advising something that is already in her focal range doesn't make a lot of sense IMO, especially as she hasn't expressed any problems with her current lens. To the OP: I've been looking at the same thing myself and the general...

Big camera bag with Laptop compartment ?

I've got the Tamrac Evolution 8, great bag and easily fits my laptop, 550D and 3 additional lenses, with plenty of room to spare. It can be worn 3 different ways (backpack, and slung over either shoulder) and you can get into your gear really easily. I highly recommend it :)

    Canon 10-22mm

Awesome link, cheers for that. Looking at getting the 10-22mm at some point before going to New York in October, and that link has lots for me to think about before I go :)

    lenses choice

I've never used the Sigma lens, but I've got the 55-250 myself and love it. Great lens for the money, you won't be disappointed if you get one :)

    Canon zoom lens

Snap. For that money you may be able to get one 2nd hand and they're really good lenses for the money, and the IS is a really useful feature to have, especially at the long end of the lens.

    Zooming towards insanity

I've not used any of them, so can't offer any advice there, but I have just seen the 70-200mm F4 IS for £750 on Dixons. It's one hell of a deal - http://www.dixons.co.uk/gbuk/canon-ef-70-200mm-f-4-l-is-usm-lens-00853106-pdt.html?srcid=369&xtor=AL-63

    Best entry level DSLR ..

If you're still unsure on your camera choice, what I'd recommend is narrowing it down to a few choices (looks like the D5100 and the 550D) and then look at the reviews on http://www.dpreview.com. That should let you know whether both fit your needs and whether you'd be happy to buy one. Then get...

    Hiring a Lens

You'll want something long and fast ideally, with a long end of at least 300mm, depending on where your seats are. I've not used any of the high end Canon glass so can't give any personal recommendations on them, but if you ask in the Motorsport forum you'll definitely get some good advice there :)

New York - Top Of The Rock - Tripods Allowed?

Didn't know I could use the pop up for that. I'll dive into the manual and have a play about with that. Cheers :)
