How do you get people to practice with?

Great book I picked up was Peter Hurley "The Headshot". He has some great tips to produce that natural look which I have managed to put into practice with great affect. Posing wise, Sue Bryce & Bambi Cantrell are good starting points I found to build a basic idea.

Beginner What am i doing wrong now?

Hi Donna, You will see some kind of grain with the ISO setting of 128000, When setting an exposure in bad light then something will have to suffer. I don't think the images are that bad for grain believe me I've seen a lot worse. (embrace the grain, grain is better than a blurry shot)

    Taking images at a wedding

I did my 1st wedding this year, the gear was not the issue just stick to the kit you know and you will be fine. The main issue I had was how quick the day ran...depending on the wedding you will almost run the day so make sure you plan your timings, have the correct people to hand arrange the...

Beginner what can i do now?

Most scenarios to bring an image to life will be the light....I'm no landscaper photographer but I do know you can't just rock up and take shot..you need to try different times of day...look for nice dramatic clouds. You can plan for everything but the bloody weather plays the major part to the...

    Beginner Flash suggestions

I used to use nissin as my 1st speed light but you will soon see it has its reason for being cheap, mine didn't support high-speed sync and when using as a slave the pre-flash from the pop-up would cause the flash to fire to early...but it was a good starting point and worked ok on camera. Oh...

Beginner When is the right time to use a flash ?

Page 35 is correct as it states, this will then allow for more ambient light and should balance the subject to background so not to get the rabbit in the head-lights kind of shot.

Lowering ambient light to shoot car - light painting

So you can't just turn off the spot lights?.... A filter will drop your overall exposures but your still going to have the same kind of issue I would imagine unless the light your painting the car with has a higher output of light than the spot lights.

    Beginner Some advice required please...

I'm not sure what kind of metering mode you had set but it's under-exposed the shot as most people have already mentioned. If if you have a camera that can't really perform under low light conditions, if you had exposed correctly you would have had a better chance of pulling back in PP. The...

    Baby Photography

Congratulation and treasure the time while they are young, a good tip when young is keep the room warm and shoot after a feed... Then find the biggest window in the house and light the little one up with the best available light you can get. Hope that helps
